What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback, also known as EEG biofeedback, is a non-invasive method that helps your brain function more effectively. By providing real-time feedback on brain activity, this technique trains the brain to improve focus, emotional balance, and cognitive performance.

Used successfully for over 40 years, neurofeedback has helped children and adults reduce symptoms related to ADHD, anxiety, and more—without medication or invasive procedures.

How Does Neurofeedback Work?

Neurofeedback teaches the brain to regulate itself more efficiently by giving it real-time information about how it's working. Sensors placed on the scalp measure brainwave activity, and that data is reflected back through interactive games, sounds, or visuals.

As the brain responds and adjusts to this feedback, it learns to shift into healthier, more balanced patterns—improving focus, calmness, and emotional control over time. No medication or invasive procedures are involved.

What Can Neurofeedback Help With?

Neurofeedback helps the brain build more efficient patterns of functioning. By improving the brain’s ability to regulate itself, individuals often notice greater focus, emotional steadiness, and better day-to-day functioning.

It has been used successfully by children and adults facing difficulties with attention, stress, sleep, and memory. Others use it to enhance mental clarity, boost resilience, and support cognitive performance—without the use of medication or invasive methods.

Neurofeedback can help with symptoms of the following conditions:

  • Academic Enhancement

  • ADHD

  • Anger

  • Anxiety Disorder

  • Sleep Disorders

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder

  • Conditions of Aging

  • Conduct Disorder

  • Depression

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Headaches & Migraines

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Typical Neurofeedback Plan

The Initial Intake Process

The first step is a 90-minute intake session. During this time, we explore the challenges you're facing and conduct a computer-based screening to measure key areas such as focus, memory, comprehension, and motor coordination. These insights help us tailor your training plan to support real-world goals.

The Neurofeedback Session Process

Neurofeedback sessions are typically 30 minutes long and held two to three times per week. Each session follows a structured, individualized plan to help improve brain regulation and performance.

1.  Monitoring Brain Waves
EEG sensors track your brain’s electrical activity to identify patterns linked to attention, stress, or focus.

2.  Feedback Through a Computer Interface
Your brainwave data is reflected back through games, visuals, or sounds that respond in real time.

3.  Reinforcing Healthy Brain Patterns

Neurofeedback strengthens patterns of brain activity that support focus, calmness, and mental clarity. Over time, this helps the brain shift toward more balanced and efficient functioning.

4.  Supporting Brain Flexibility and Growth
As the brain receives feedback, it naturally learns to adjust. This process supports improved emotional control, mental clarity, and the ability to adapt more easily to daily challenges.

5.  Targeting Specific Brain Waves
Sessions are customized to your needs, helping to reduce unwanted patterns and support optimal functioning.
